Cost-Plus Sourcing

Cost-Plus is an exclusive contract between ASDA, its suppliers, and a select group of dedicated potato and carrot growers.

It is designed to deliver sustainable year-on-year returns for growers by moving them away from the boom and bust cycle associated with wholesale markets.

Cost-Plus prices are set at the start of each growing season. They are not linked to external market prices. Therefore when prices fall on the open market, farmers on the scheme do not suffer. Instead, Cost-Plus prices are based on the ‘true’ cost of production with extra bonuses paid for increasing quality and improving yields.
